Unreal Engine XR template
An Unreal Engine 5 project for OpenXR headsets whose level is a Python script: scenes in real materials, things to grab, hinges and drawers, with Unreal's own rig for hands and controllers.
- Built on
- Unreal Engine 5 + OpenXR, the level written as Python. The level is a Python script that your own Unreal Editor builds, so it can be read, reviewed and changed as text.
- Comes with
- The Builder plan and higher. See pricing.
- Runs on
- OpenXR headsets, packaged with Unreal Engine on a computer set up for it. While you work, the game runs on a flat screen and the agent sees a picture of it.
- You need
- Unreal Engine 5 on your computer (on a Mac, Xcode with its Metal Toolchain); Graspable finds it and never signs in for you. See native XR.
Requests to try
Start a project from this template and send one of these as it is, or change it to what you have in mind.
- A showroom for a kitchen island: an oak worktop on painted cabinets with steel handles, three bar stools, pendant lamps above it, on a concrete floor.
- A training bay: a workbench with a row of six labelled tool stations, each a different material sample, and a sign above each with its name.
- A warehouse aisle: two racks of four levels with cardboard-coloured boxes on every shelf, yellow floor markings, and aisle and bin labels large enough to read from 4 metres.
- A maintenance bench: a cabinet with two doors on hinges and three drawers on rails that I open by hand, tools made of simple shapes that I pick up from the bench top, and a labelled place for each.
- A control stand with four levers and two handwheels I can grab and move, each with a label, on a steel console in a concrete room.

Start from it
Download Graspable, choose Unreal Engine XR when you create a project, and say what you want. The agent edits the project on your computer and a run ends only when it builds its level without errors.
