A machine start-up station in Unreal Engine

The request, word for word

This is the text that was sent to the agent to start the project. Nothing was edited for this page.

A machine start-up station for training new operators, in a concrete room with a painted metal console at standing height. On the console: a main power lever on a hinge that I can grab and pull down, with a label "MAIN POWER" above it. On the wall behind the console hangs a work lamp, and beside it a sign. When I pull the lever down past halfway, the lamp comes on and the sign reads "POWER ON"; when I push the lever back up, the lamp goes off and the sign reads "POWER OFF". Use real materials: concrete floor and walls, painted metal console, a steel lever with a red handle. Make it look like a real plant room, lit well enough to read every label from where I stand.

How it went

Runs
2 runs: the request above, then one follow-up request. A run ends only when the project builds and loads in a real browser without errors.
Started from
The Unreal Engine XR template: An Unreal Engine 5 project for OpenXR headsets whose level is a Python script: scenes in real materials, things to grab, hinges and drawers, Unreal's own rig for hands and controllers, and Blueprints the agent writes.
Notes and credits
The level is a script; the logic that switches the lamp and the sign is a Blueprint the agent wrote and compiled through the Unreal Editor (Unreal Engine 5.8). The second request asked for a better finish and more detail. The picture shows it at rest; pulling the lever has not been tried on a headset. AI: Claude Code.
