Unity for Quest template
A native Unity project for Meta Quest and Meta VR Glasses: mixed reality out of the box, with passthrough, real surfaces, hands, gaze and controllers, built as an Android app you install on the headset.
- Built on
- Unity 6 + OpenXR + Meta OpenXR + XR Interaction Toolkit, in a Unity 6 project with a Graspable kit of scripts and prefabs. It is an ordinary Unity project in a folder on your computer, built with your own Unity.
- Comes with
- The Builder plan and higher. See pricing.
- Runs on
- Meta Quest 3 and 3S, Meta VR Glasses, Android XR headsets and XREAL glasses, as an Android app you build from Graspable and install over USB. Play mode in the Unity Editor stands in for the headset while you work.
- You need
- Unity 6 with the Android module and the Unity CLI on your computer; Graspable finds them and never signs in for you. See native XR.
Requests to try
Start a project from this template and send one of these as it is, or change it to what you have in mind.
- A plant that I place on my real table by pinching, that grows a little every time I look at it for a second.
- A measuring tape: pinch twice on real surfaces and show the distance between the points as a label in the air.
- A to-do board on my real wall: pinch on the wall to put up a sticky note, grab notes to move them, poke one to mark it done.
- A target range in my room: a rack of balls on the table, three cans on a shelf I place on a real surface, a scoreboard above them.
- A desk lamp I can grab and put anywhere on the real desk; its light stays where I leave it and a button changes its colour.
Start from it
Download Graspable, choose Unity for Quest when you create a project, and say what you want. The agent edits the project on your computer and a run ends only when it compiles and runs in play mode without errors.
