Fast mode makes the agent quicker on larger projects. It comes with the Pro plan and higher, and uses Credits.
Turn it on
- Sign in under Settings → Graspable account.
- Open Settings → Fast mode and tick Use Fast mode.
It applies to every run you start after that, on this computer and in Cloud Agents.
What it does
| Step | What changes | Shown in the run as |
|---|---|---|
| Fast edit | The agent writes only the lines that change. The edit is merged into the file in about a second, instead of the agent rewriting the file | fast edit |
| Code search | The agent asks for code by what it does ("where is the tape length computed") and gets the right files and lines back | fast search |
| Shorter output | Long command output, such as a build log, is cut down to the lines that matter before the agent reads it | fast shortened output |
| Progress check | When a fix has failed twice, Graspable checks whether the agent is repeating itself, and stops the run if it is | reflex |
Each step in the run shows the Credits it used.
What it costs
A step costs 0.1 to 0.3 Credits on a normal file, and more on a very large one. A step that fails costs nothing.
A typical request uses a few steps, so well under 1 Credit.
Which agents it works with
| Agent | Fast edit | Code search | Shorter output | Progress check |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Graspable agent | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Claude Code | No. It uses its own editing | Yes | No | Yes |
| Codex CLI | No | No | No | Yes |
When it is not available
If you run out of Credits, or your plan does not include Fast mode, the run carries on without it. The agent uses its ordinary edit and search tools. Nothing fails.
Privacy
For a Fast mode step, the file being edited, the search question with the lines the search reads, or the command output is sent to Graspable and to our provider for that step. It is not stored by Graspable. Without Fast mode none of this leaves your computer except to your own AI account.
